DesignDivaDolores and Rion's NYC Loft Interior Design Adventures (Part 1)
Rion Willard is an architect and the Director of Consulting and Business Transformation for the Business Of Architecture. He resides in England with his fiancé, Yvonne. Rion is my architectural business coach and mentor.
Some time ago, Rion and Yvonne purchased a New York Loft in Queens and planned to renovate their a pied-à-terre.
And then … Covid hit and their their plans were delayed. Ouch!
Since all is well with the world being able with the ability travel again, they decided to resume renovations. Yvonne travels back and forth to New York while Rion collaborates remotely in England. They are both excited about their new adventure.
I’m excited too!
I can't help but cheer him on with all of the possibilities available. Architects don’t necessarily know the minute details required to design an interior space. Also, all of the new exciting materials and products available can change a space from ordinary to spectacular.
I’ve helped several architects and people ‘in the business’ guiding them thru the process of making a house a home and realizing their ‘master architectural’ dreams. I listen and offer up edited options that are specific and unique to their requirements. In other words, they don't have to kiss a lot of frogs to get what they need and want. Since they are an educated Client, they move thru the various options quickly and appreciate being brought through the educational process of interior design quickly. (Even famous architects need someone to hold their hand when renovating or building the home of their dreams.)
